Completion of Five-Day Extraordinary Session
Full-Scale Preparations Begin for 2025 Administrative Affairs Audit
On April 18, KyoSang Park, Chairman of the Gumi City Council in North Gyeongsang Province, convened the second plenary session of the 286th extraordinary session in the main chamber and concluded all proceedings scheduled over the five-day session.
During this extraordinary session, a total of 14 agenda items were reviewed and resolved, including nine ordinance bills (seven of which were proposed by council members), one consent agenda, and one public property management plan.
Notably, the original draft of the "2025 Administrative Affairs Audit Plan," which was prepared to ensure a substantive and effective administrative affairs audit during the 288th first regular session scheduled for June, was passed as proposed, marking the official start of preparations for the audit.
Prior to the plenary session, a five-minute free speech session was held, during which various suggestions regarding municipal administration were presented.
Council member Geunhan Kim emphasized the need for preparatory and reemployment training for soon-to-retire public officials, while council member Myunghee Lee called for adjustments to the middle school districts to advance education in Gumi City.
Council member Jinhyuk So proposed expanding road infrastructure and establishing an effective road network in the Gangdong area, urging the executive branch to respond proactively.
In his closing remarks, Chairman KyoSang Park stated, "Just as spring deepens in color, I hope your lives will also be filled with warm change and hope," adding, "During this extraordinary session, we carried out a variety of legislative activities to enhance citizen welfare, and we will continue to pursue practical, community-oriented policies in the future."
