Korea Vietnam War Veterans Association North Gyeongsang Branch Delivers Donations to 33 Wildfire-Affected Member Households

Delivering Words of Comfort and Hope for Swift Recovery
A Small Gesture, but United in Overcoming Crisis Together

Lee Hwajong, President of the Korea Vietnam War Veterans Association Central Committee, recently held a donation ceremony at Uiseong County Office on April 17, delivering 140 million won in funds collected by the association's 17 regional branches nationwide to support members in North Gyeongsang Province affected by recent wildfires.

The event was attended by Kim Jongsul, Director of the Daegu Regional Office of Patriots and Veterans Affairs, the Deputy Governor of Uiseong, and 33 households of members from wildfire-affected areas within the province, including Andong, Uiseong, Yeongyang, Yeongdeok, and Cheongsong. President Lee and other association officials personally delivered the donations and offered words of consolation.

President Lee stated, "Despite the difficult circumstances, the funds were raised through the voluntary participation of members nationwide. Although it is a small gesture, I sincerely hope you can recover from the damage as soon as possible and return to your daily lives." He added, "This donation embodies our solidarity and determination to overcome the current crisis together."

The funds will be used to help affected members restore their homes and purchase emergency daily necessities.

Kim Junhyu, head of the North Gyeongsang Province branch, said, "I extend my deepest sympathies to the members who lost their homes in the wildfires. In the future, we will continue to lead efforts to share in the pain of our community whenever warm attention and helping hands are needed the most."

The Korea Vietnam War Veterans Association, comprised mainly of elderly members, continues to engage in volunteer work and social participation, serving as a reliable pillar of support for the community in times of crisis.
