During the 100-Minute Debate on MBC that evening, Kim Dongyeon said, "After Yoon Sukyeol was dismissed, many people discouraged me from running. They said it was already decided for Lee Jaemyung and hoped I wouldn't just be a bystander." He continued, "Regardless of the odds, I will confidently and boldly present my vision and philosophy to the people."
Candidate Lee Jaemyung stated, "The Democratic Party is the political group capable of changing the administration and taking responsibility for governing the country," adding, "No matter who wins, we will unite our strength to reclaim the government."
Lee added, "I have overcome many crises," and said, "Many people acknowledge my competence, and I am confident as well. This is the time when Lee Jaemyung is needed."
Candidate Kim Kyungsoo said, "The Democratic Party, which bears both the achievements and shortcomings of the Kim Daejung, Roh Moo-hyun, and Moon Jae-in administrations, will take the lead in creating a great transformation for Korea," adding, "I will make this primary an election where everyone wins. Only then will an overwhelming change of government be possible."
Kim Kyungsoo also stated, "The democratic forces and those committed to defending the Constitution will unite and continue their alliance even after a change in government," adding, "I will do my utmost so that the people can have new hope."
