According to the Special Investigation Unit of the National Office of Investigation at the Korean National Police Agency, Lee appeared for questioning in the afternoon of the same day as a suspect in allegations related to the suspension of electricity and water supplies.

Lee is accused of conveying instructions to cut off electricity and water to certain media company buildings to the police and the National Fire Agency, immediately after the declaration of martial law, following orders from former President Yoon Suk-yeol.

Previously, on February 18, police conducted searches and seizures at the homes and offices of the head and deputy head of the National Fire Agency, as well as at Lee's residence and office.
