The Gwangju Regional Office of Patriots and Veterans Affairs announced on April 18 that it had operated the "9988 Harmony Class" to promote the health and vitality of elderly national merit recipients and their bereaved families.
The event, held at Ssangchon Community Welfare Center on the same day, was organized with the support of the Mind Flower Volunteer Group of the Korea Horticultural Therapists Association for elderly national merit recipients and bereaved families living alone. Participants engaged in physical activities such as health exercises, as well as cultural activities including a singing class and laughter therapy. They also took part in a flower pot-making experience, which helped revitalize their bodies and minds after the long winter.
Kim Seokki, head of the Gwangju Regional Office of Patriots and Veterans Affairs, stated, "We will continue to do our utmost to realize 'living patriots and veterans affairs in daily life, patriots and veterans affairs for all,' by honoring and respecting national merit recipients in cooperation with the local community."
