Sinjeongho Local Garden Opens in Asan... Features Eight Themed Zones

The Sinjeongho Local Garden in Asan, South Chungcheong Province, officially opened on April 18.

The city held an opening ceremony that afternoon on the lawn plaza in front of the Sandeulbaram Hill Garden, attended by more than 2,000 people including Mayor Oh Sehyun.

The garden covers a total area of 248,648 square meters and is divided into eight themed zones: Welcome, Four Seasons, Terraced Fields, Water, Sandeulbaram Hill, Dry, Lotus, and Citizen.

The garden features a total of 92,000 plants across 239 species, including 11,000 trees from 102 species and about 81,000 herbaceous plants from 137 species, allowing visitors to enjoy a variety of landscapes throughout the year.

In particular, a range of water features, including an ecological pond, have been installed, offering plenty to see and enjoy.

Mayor Oh Sehyun stated, "It has been transformed into a space where people can enjoy not only leisure and healing, but also a sense of relaxation in their daily lives," adding, "We will actively attract family tourists and visitors by linking with upcoming projects such as the Sinjeongho Kids Garden, Sky Road, and nightscape initiatives, in order to revitalize the local economy and support the recovery of livelihoods."

Meanwhile, since 2021, the city has invested a total project cost of 25.5 billion won to create the garden. After registering it as a local garden in January this year, the city has been carrying out projects such as nightscape development with an additional investment of 18.56 billion won.
