Emphasizes "Field-Oriented, Demand-Driven Projects" in Inaugural Address

On April 21, the Korea Labor Foundation announced that its board of directors held a meeting on the 9th and appointed Jongpil Park, former spokesperson of the Ministry of Employment and Labor, as its 8th Secretary General. His term will last for three years, from this day until April 20, 2028.

Secretary General Park graduated from the Department of History at Korea University, earned master's degrees from the Graduate School of Public Administration at Yonsei University and the University of Birmingham in the United Kingdom, and obtained a doctorate in business administration from Yeungnam University.


He entered public service through the 38th Higher Civil Service Examination. He has served as Director General for Youth Employment Policy at the Ministry of Employment and Labor, Director General for Labor Inspection Policy, Director General for Labor Standards Policy, and Director General for Planning and Coordination. He also served as spokesperson for the Ministry of Employment and Labor twice: from April to December 2020, and from July of last year until this April.


In his inaugural address, Secretary General Park emphasized his commitment to strengthening field-oriented services. He stated, "All projects carried out by the foundation must be demand-driven and field-friendly." He added, "We will focus on bringing about real change in the labor field and will listen more closely to voices on the ground to provide tailored solutions."


He also expressed his ambition by saying, "I will realize the 'joy of working' through internal communication and collaboration, so that foundation employees can work with pride," and added, "We will do our utmost to serve as a compass that enables both workers and companies to prosper together by mobilizing all of the foundation's capabilities."
