Cheonan and Asan Lift Administrative Order Restricting Wildfire Prevention Activities

On April 13, the national wildfire disaster crisis alert level was downgraded to "Caution," prompting Cheonan and Asan in South Chungcheong Province to lift the "Administrative Order Restricting Wildfire Prevention Activities" that had been issued earlier this month.

Cheonan announced the lifting of the order on its official website on April 17, while Asan did so on April 15.

Although the order was lifted immediately upon announcement, the restricted mountain entry zones will remain in place until May 15, when the designation will be lifted.

During this period, unless there are exceptions as specified under the Forest Protection Act, unauthorized entry into the restricted areas will result in a fine of up to 100,000 won.

Currently, there are 22 restricted mountain entry zones (8,073 hectares) in Cheonan and 38 zones (6,076 hectares) in Asan. The closed hiking trail sections total 141.78 kilometers in Cheonan and 64.3 kilometers in Asan.

For further details, please refer to the city announcements or contact the relevant departments (Cheonan Forest Recreation Division or Asan Forestry Division).
