On the 17th, Jipyung Management Consulting Center organized this event to explore strategic approaches for workforce portfolio transformation and to review practical considerations for workforce planning, in response to the rapidly changing business environment caused by technological advancements and demographic shifts.

The forum began with opening remarks from Lee Haengyu, Managing Partner at Jipyung, and proceeded with two sessions. In the first session, Mira Lee, Professor at Yonsei University Graduate School of International Studies, gave a presentation on "Macroeconomic Changes in the Business Environment and HR Challenges." Professor Lee stated, "Demographic changes call not only for a reduction in the workforce but also for a 'redefinition of roles' in the labor market." She emphasized, "Rather than viewing personnel as mere numbers, companies should regard them as members equipped with the necessary knowledge, skills, and experience, and design their workforce portfolio accordingly."

Next, Yumi Ran, Executive Director at Jipyung Management Consulting Center, presented on "The Importance and Implementation of Strategic Workforce Portfolio Transformation." She explained, "Workforce planning is often centered around cost reduction, which can lead to limitations that undermine operational stability." She added, "Successful workforce planning should not be about simple workforce downsizing but should focus on designing a workforce structure for future business."

In the second session, Yongmoon Kim, Partner Attorney at Jipyung, gave a presentation on "Business and Organizational Restructuring and Labor Relations" under the theme "Legal Considerations and Response Strategies in Workforce Planning." Kim pointed out, "Under Korea’s labor law system, dismissals are strictly limited, which creates a unique rigidity in corporate workforce management." He then presented ways for companies to lawfully secure employment flexibility.

Finally, Unbae Jeon, Advisor at Jipyung, delivered a presentation on "Key Points in Labor-Management Relations and Communication Strategies." He explained, "During the implementation of workforce planning, companies inevitably face various labor-management issues," and emphasized, "In such environments, strengthening the communication skills of on-site managers is a crucial task for the smooth resolution of labor-management issues."

Junhee Lee, Director of Jipyung Management Consulting Center, stated, "HR competitiveness is a key driver of successful corporate transformation," and added, "Jipyung Management Consulting Center will continue to be a partner that provides timely and in-depth advice on management issues, helping domestic companies secure healthy competitiveness."
