The Chungnam Office of Education announced that on the morning of April 18, it conducted the 2025 Visiting Youth Smoking Prevention Education program for students at Seosan Yecheon Elementary School, aiming to prevent youth smoking and help foster healthy values.
The program, developed in collaboration with the National Health Insurance Service, is designed as a customized, integrated cultural education initiative that moves beyond traditional lecture-based instruction. It combines lectures by expert instructors with engaging magic performances to capture students' interest, and will be implemented at nine elementary schools.
During the smoking prevention education session, expert instructors from the National Health Insurance Service delivered lectures alongside magic performances tailored to the elementary students' level. This approach effectively and naturally conveyed the harmful effects of smoking in an easy and enjoyable manner.
Additionally, the program included a smoking prevention OX quiz and an interactive Q&A segment to encourage active student participation. These components effectively raised awareness about the dangers of smoking, enhanced student engagement, and increased the educational impact, resulting in a positive response from the students.
The provincial office of education plans to continue its multifaceted efforts by operating smoking prevention and cessation practice programs at all schools in the province and developing a variety of educational initiatives.
