Kurly's Strength Lies in 'Product Curation Competitiveness'
Naver Combines Traffic and a Diverse Customer Base
Both Companies Expect Synergy Through Sales Channel Expansion
Kurly announced on the 18th that it is pursuing a business partnership with Naver to provide services on the 'Naver Plus Store' within this year.
Once the service is introduced, Kurly's food and daily necessities will be showcased on the Naver Plus Store. Kurly stated that meaningful synergistic effects are expected for both companies through collaboration with Naver. First, Kurly possesses numerous exclusive products that it has directly discovered and developed through its excellent curation capabilities, and it has secured a customer base that uses Kurly regularly at least once a week. Naver's strength lies in having one of the largest customer bases in the country.
The two companies plan to collaborate in product and service areas in the future. Through this, Kurly expects to attract a large number of new customers in a short period and expand its customer base to various age groups. Expanding the sales channel, which was previously limited to Kurly Mall, to Naver is also expected to strengthen service competitiveness.
Naver anticipates that proposing Kurly's premium product lineup to a diverse range of users and expanding service experiences will increase the number of Naver Plus Store users. Previously, Naver officially launched the open market Naver Plus Store on the 12th of last month.
Kim Seul-ah, CEO of Kurly, said, "Kurly and Naver each have clear competitive advantages that other platforms cannot easily replicate, making them optimal collaboration partners," adding, "We hope that this business partnership between the two companies will allow more customers to experience good products and excellent services."
Choi Soo-yeon, CEO of Naver, stated, "We expect Naver's shopping ecosystem to become richer through the partnership with Kurly, which has outstanding curation capabilities in the fresh food sector," and added, "We will focus on enhancing users' shopping experiences and benefits, and concretize collaborative services where both companies can create synergy."
