The Supreme Court Administrative Office announced on the 18th that it will hire five people with severe disabilities as part-time general fixed-term public officials through a competitive career recruitment exam.
They will work at the Court Exhibition Hall (1 person), the library (1 person), and support for unmanned issuance of registration documents (3 people) at the Administrative Office of the Courts, Seoul Central District Court, Seoul Western District Court, Chuncheon District Court, and Ulsan District Court. The court plans to appoint the successful candidates as fixed-term public officials and then hire them as general public officials after a certain period of work.
The Administrative Office explained that this is the first time a constitutional institution has hired people with severe disabilities through a competitive career recruitment process. The office has been developing job roles since last year through a business agreement with the Korea Disabled People's Development Institute.
The Administrative Office of the Courts stated, "We hope this will help expand public service opportunities for people with severe disabilities, who face relatively poor employment conditions," and added, "We will continue to promote hiring policies for people with severe disabilities to improve their rights and fulfill the social responsibilities of national institutions."
