Kim and Chang Law Firm and Daegu-Gyeongbuk Free Economic Zone Authority Hold Investment Seminar for 15 Japanese Foreign-Invested Companies

The Daegu-Gyeongbuk Free Economic Zone Authority (Commissioner Kim Byungsam) held a seminar on the 17th at the Daegu Textile Complex, co-hosted with Kim & Chang Law Firm, with over 50 participants including representatives from 15 Japanese companies based in Korea.


This event was organized to introduce the investment environment of each district within DGFEZ to Japanese-invested companies in the Daegu-Gyeongbuk region, promote investment opportunities, and provide diverse information on major legal issues of interest to these companies.

A DGFEZ official actively promoted the investment conditions of eight districts through a video presentation, including Suseong Alpha City, which is equipped with IT and software convergence industry infrastructure; Pohang Convergence Technology Industrial Zone, where bio industry clustering is underway; and Yeongcheon High-Tech Park District, which offers easy accessibility and scalable land acquisition, and called for investment in these areas.


From Kim & Chang Law Firm, Senior Advisor Ahn Youngho (former Standing Commissioner of the Fair Trade Commission) and Commissioner Kim Younggi (former Head of the Seoul Gangnam Regional Employment and Labor Office) attended to introduce key issues related to compliance, fair trade trends, and human resources and labor matters including the Serious Accidents Punishment Act, followed by a Q&A session with participating companies.


Commissioner Kim Byungsam stated, "We will continue to collaborate with various external professional organizations to create opportunities for communication and information exchange with foreign-invested companies in the Daegu-Gyeongbuk region, and actively attract investment within DGFEZ."
