Total prize money: 4 million KRW
The Korea Land and Safety Management Institute announced on the 18th that it will hold a contest to prevent fall and crushing accidents at construction sites.
The contest is divided into two categories: 'Pre-Work Safety Inspection Meeting (TBM)' best practices for construction workers and 'Accident Prevention Slogan' for the general public. The total prize money is 4 million KRW.
The TBM contest requires participants to select one of six high-risk construction tasks?such as high-altitude work, excavation and temporary construction, steel frame, exterior painting, and elevator installation?and submit accident prevention cases.
One grand prize winner will receive 700,000 KRW, and 29 excellence award winners will each receive 100,000 KRW.
The selected cases will be produced as TBM training cards, posted on the comprehensive safety management information network for construction projects, and used as educational materials for small to medium-sized sites.
The slogan contest focuses on the importance of basic safety rules such as wearing helmets and safety harnesses.
Applications are accepted from today until May 16. Results will be announced on June 13 on the contest website.
