650 Billion Won Newly Allocated for the 'Public Delivery App Discount Support Project'
Additional 50 Billion Won for the Agricultural and Livestock Products Discount Support Project
The government has decided to provide a 10,000 won discount coupon when ordering three times with orders of 20,000 won or more on public delivery applications (apps) in the future. The purpose is to increase dining-out consumption to boost sales for small business owners and to alleviate the burden of delivery fees. Additionally, the scale of the discount support project for agricultural and livestock products will be expanded to reduce the burden of consumer basket prices.
The Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs announced on the 18th that it has allocated 115 billion won in the 2025 supplementary budget.
An official from the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs said, "This supplementary budget was focused on stabilizing livelihoods such as small business owners and prices, comprehensively considering urgency and the possibility of utilizing already determined budgets within limited fiscal conditions. We newly reflected 65 billion won for the 'Public Delivery App Discount Support Project' to increase sales of small business owners and reduce delivery fee burdens, and added 50 billion won to the existing 108 billion won for the 'Agricultural and Livestock Products Discount Support Project' to reduce consumer basket price burdens."
The newly reflected 65 billion won in this supplementary budget will be invested in discount support for public delivery apps. If a customer orders three times with each order over 20,000 won on a public delivery app, they will receive a 10,000 won discount coupon. The plan is to provide one discount coupon per person per month until the budget is exhausted.
Public delivery apps accept local currency and Onnuri gift certificates. The fees range from 0 to 2%, which is cheaper than general delivery apps (2 to 7.8%), and there are no advertising fees. There are 52 public delivery apps operating nationwide, including Ttaenggyeoyo, Baedal-ui Myeongsu, and Meokkebi. On the 7th, the government established a public delivery integrated portal to allow users to view public delivery apps operated by local governments in one place.
An official from the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs said, "Through the public delivery app discount support, not only will many consumers increase their dining-out consumption, boosting sales for small business owners, but it is also expected to greatly help reduce the management burden of small business owners using public delivery apps, which have much lower intermediary fees and no advertising fees. With the increase in new customers, public delivery apps are expected to be revitalized, and consumption stimulation will also be achieved."
In addition to the supplementary budget, the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs plans to mobilize all available means, including utilizing existing projects, to support recovery from the recent massive wildfire damage in the Yeongnam region and the prompt resumption of farming by farmers.
Support will be provided for disaster recovery costs, agricultural policy funds, housing improvement, agricultural machinery rental, and facility repair and maintenance to aid wildfire damage recovery and farming resumption. Furthermore, policy funds for wildfire damage recovery will be supplied with full guarantees to farmers lacking collateral, and guarantee fees will be reduced.
