Will Discuss Global Economic Outlook and Policy Challenges
The Bank of Korea announced on the 18th that Governor Lee Chang-yong will attend the 'G20 Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors Meeting' and the 'International Monetary Fund (IMF) - World Bank Group (WBG) Spring Meetings' held in Washington D.C., USA. Governor Lee will depart on the 19th for this purpose.
At the G20 Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors Meeting, Governor Lee is expected to exchange views with finance ministers, central bank governors, and officials from international financial institutions on the global economic situation, financial stability, and the international financial system. At the subsequent IMF Spring Meetings, he plans to review the global economic outlook, the state of global financial stability, and discuss global policy challenges.
On the 23rd, Governor Lee will participate in a panel discussion hosted by the IMF, discussing topics such as 'Monetary Policy and Financial Stability during Inflationary Periods.' He will also hold meetings with key figures in international financial markets and policymakers.
Meanwhile, during the meetings, Governor Lee Chang-yong will attend an award ceremony as the recipient of the 'Foreign Policy Association (FPA) Medal.' The FPA is a nonprofit organization established in 1918 to help the American public understand and engage with foreign policy and international issues.
The FPA Medal is awarded to individuals who have made a positive impact on the international community and demonstrated responsible global leadership.
