Siheung City "Proactive Response to Sinkholes Due to Subway Construction and Urban Development"

Business Agreement Signed with Iseong Co., Ltd. for Safety Inspection Solutions
Ground Surveys Planned for Siwha Industrial Complex Roads and Water Pipe Replacement Sites

Siheung City in Gyeonggi Province announced on the 18th that it signed a "Memorandum of Understanding for Sinkhole Prevention and Safe Underground Environment Creation" with underground safety inspection solution company Iseong Co., Ltd. on the 17th at the City Hall Innovation Discussion Room to prevent ground subsidence (sinkhole) accidents.

This agreement was made to proactively respond to sinkhole issues arising from the ongoing Shinansan Line and Wolgot-Pangyo Line subway construction and urban development in the area.

Both organizations agreed to work together to secure the safety of underground spaces and protect citizens' lives and property through technical cooperation and information sharing. According to the agreement, the city and Iseong will begin ground surveys next month at the main road in Siwha Industrial Complex, Jeongwang-dong, and at the site of the old water pipe replacement project scheduled for next year. The city plans to complete preparatory work for safe underground space management before the rainy season and will continue to conduct ongoing safety management of underground spaces throughout the city.
