A Total of 25 Facilities in Busan Port Targeted
Aiming to Achieve a B Safety Grade (Good)
Busan Port Authority (BPA, President Song Sangkeun) announced on the 18th that it is currently conducting precise safety inspections and diagnoses on a total of 25 port facilities within Busan Port as part of its proactive safety management efforts.
The inspections and diagnoses are being carried out over a period of 10 months through a service contract with a specialized safety inspection agency. The target facilities include 12 locations in Busan North Port, 10 in Gamcheon Port, and 3 in New Port, covering 25 ground and underwater facilities in Busan Port that are due for inspection.
The precise safety inspection involves visual surveys and the use of measurement and testing equipment to identify any potential risk factors inherent in the facilities. The precise safety diagnosis evaluates the structural safety of the facilities to establish a rational maintenance and management strategy.
This round of precise safety inspections and diagnoses will include comprehensive visual surveys and material testing of all targeted port facilities, with thorough safety management measures in place to achieve a B grade (Good) for all facilities.
BPA Construction Division Director Lee Sangkwon stated, "We will ensure a safe Busan Port through thorough inspections and optimal maintenance to achieve a B safety grade."
