Gongju City Council Chair Lim Dalhee Requests Provincial Funding for Nighttime Baekje Cultural Performances

Im Dalhee, Chairperson of the Gongju City Council in Chungnam, officially requested provincial support from Kim Taeheum, Governor of Chungnam, for the "Premium Baekje Culture Nighttime Permanent Performance Linked to Stay-Type Tourism Revitalization" project at the "Governor-City/County Council Chairpersons' Meeting" held in the main conference room of the Chungnam Provincial Government on the 17th, according to an announcement on the 18th.

Chairperson Im emphasized, "Gongju is a city with the Baekje Historic Areas, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and abundant cultural heritage," adding, "We need to revitalize stay-type tourism and boost the local economy through large-scale nighttime performances that reflect the unique characteristics of the region."

She continued, "By establishing Gongju as the 'Mecca of Premium Nighttime Performances,' we can also contribute to job creation for local artists and balanced development in culture and the arts," requesting active interest from the province.

In response, Governor Kim stated, "I agree with the necessity and purpose of the project," and added, "If national funding is secured, we will also actively consider providing provincial funding."
