Hanwha TotalEnergies Awards 10 Million KRW Research Grant
Kim Honored for Developing Polymer-Based Convergent Nanomaterials
Dongha Kim, a professor in the Department of Chemistry and Nano Science at Ewha Womans University, has been selected as this year’s recipient of the 'Hanwha Polymer Science Award,' established by Hanwha TotalEnergies and organized by the Korean Polymer Society.
On the 17th, Hanwha TotalEnergies presented Professor Kim with a plaque and a research grant of 10 million KRW at the '2025 Spring General Meeting of the Korean Polymer Society' held at the International Convention Center in Seogwipo, Jeju. Professor Kim was recognized for his extensive research applying polymer-based convergent nanomaterials to eco-friendly catalysts, memory devices, display devices, and other fields. He is an authority in the design, synthesis, and application of hybrid nanomaterials.

The Hanwha Polymer Science Award was established in 2005 by Hanwha TotalEnergies in collaboration with the Korean Polymer Society to contribute to the development of basic science in Korea and to advance polymer science, which is fundamental to the petrochemical industry. Each year, it supports scientists who have achieved notable research results in the field of polymer science in Korea by providing research activity funding.
Professor Kim said, "I am very honored to receive the 2025 Hanwha Polymer Science Award. I will use this award as an opportunity to further dedicate myself to my research areas and strive to produce creative outcomes that meet societal needs, thereby contributing as a scholar."
