LG Uplus announced on the 18th the launch of a dedicated roaming product, 'Asia Roaming Pass,' for customers visiting travel destinations in the Asia region.

The Asia Roaming Pass is a period-based roaming product available for use when visiting Japan, Vietnam, Taiwan, and the China region including Hong Kong and Macao. An additional plan offering 6GB of data for 39,000 KRW was introduced, based on an analysis of data usage patterns of Asian travelers who mainly prefer short trips of around 3 nights and 4 days.

Last April, LG Uplus launched the 'Roaming Pass,' which allows users to use data and voice services for a certain period in 83 countries worldwide. The plans are composed of four types based on the provided data volume: ▲3GB (29,000 KRW) ▲8GB (44,000 KRW) ▲13GB (59,000 KRW) ▲25GB (79,000 KRW).

To commemorate the launch of the Asia Roaming Pass, LG Uplus is offering additional benefits to users. Customers who subscribe through the official online mall 'Uplus.com' or the mobile app 'Your U+' will be enrolled for free in the 'Flight Delay Compensation Service' and receive a 10,000 KRW voucher for the 'iSharing App,' which allows real-time location sharing with family and friends traveling together.

Asia Roaming Pass users can also use the 'Roaming Pass Sharing' service for 3,000 KRW, which allows real-time sharing of roaming data volume with family or acquaintances, just like the existing Roaming Pass. Roaming Pass Sharing enables up to five people using U+ mobile lines to share data together.

Users of the Roaming Pass also receive airport services, duty-free shop, currency exchange, and other partnership benefits, as well as additional data benefits. Customers subscribed to domestic 5G plans costing 85,000 KRW or more per month receive double the data, and customers who subscribe online receive an additional 1GB of data.

Im Hye-kyung, head of LG Uplus’s Pricing and Partnership Products, said, "In line with the full resumption of overseas travel, we planned the Asia Roaming Pass to allow customers to use communication services more reasonably and conveniently in preferred Asian travel destinations." She added, "We will continue to discover roaming products centered on practical benefits that can innovate customer experience."

Meanwhile, LG Uplus is holding an event to celebrate the launch of the Asia Roaming Pass. Until May, the first 10,000 customers using the Asia Roaming Pass who visit Japan and apply for the event will receive an ice cream voucher redeemable at the local convenience store 'Lawson.'
