Nowon-gu (Mayor Oh Seung-rok) conducted a joint inspection involving the public, private, and police sectors on the afternoon of the 17th around Eunnang Intersection and the academy district in Junggye-dong to prevent illegal filming crimes.
This inspection focused especially on areas with high concerns for illegal filming crimes, such as public restrooms in academy districts frequently used by teenagers. A total of seven participants, including Nowon-gu office staff, Nowon Police Station, and citizen monitoring groups, inspected the sites based on a public-private-police cooperative system.
The participants carefully checked for the installation of illegal filming devices inside restrooms using detection equipment and carried out prevention and publicity activities, such as attaching stickers to eradicate illegal filming at the inspection locations.
Nowon-gu operates a service that allows any resident to rent illegal filming detection equipment free of charge for up to five days, supporting individuals to inspect uneasy or private spaces by themselves.
Oh Seung-rok, Mayor of Nowon-gu, stated, "Through joint inspections involving the public, private, and police sectors, we aim to proactively respond to illegal filming crimes in densely populated academy areas. We will continue to do our best to create a safe urban environment where residents can live with peace of mind."
