Jjuyang Files for Injunction Against Gaseyeon and Kim Seui
The court ordered Kim Se-ui, the representative of the YouTube channel Garoseuro Yeonguso (Gaseyeon), to delete videos related to the private life of YouTuber 'Jjuyang' (real name Park Jeong-won) that were posted without her consent.
On the 17th, the Seoul Central District Court Civil Division 51 (Presiding Judge Park Sang-eon) partially granted an injunction request filed by Jjuyang against Gaseyeon and its representative Kim to delete and prohibit the posting of certain videos.
YouTuber Jjuyang (real name Park Jung-won), who filed a complaint against Kim Se-ui, CEO of Garosero Research Institute, on charges including threats, is responding to reporters' questions as he appears for investigation at Gangnam Police Station in Gangnam-gu, Seoul on the 16th. Last July, Kim had disclosed a related recording claiming that Jjuyang was threatened by YouTuber Guje-yeok (real name Lee Jun-hee) and others. The recording contained discussions on how Guje-yeok and others, who obtained information about Jjuyang's private life, would demand money from her.
Jjuyang explained allegations that she had worked at entertainment establishments in the past by stating it was due to "assault and coercion by an ex-boyfriend," but Kim continued to broadcast content implying that Jjuyang's explanation was "not true."
In response, Jjuyang filed a complaint against Kim for violations of the Stalking Punishment Act, as well as charges of intimidation and coercion.
The police decided not to prosecute Kim in February due to insufficient evidence, but the prosecution accepted Jjuyang's objection and requested the police to conduct supplementary investigations last month.
