Up to Six Academic Credits Granted for Program Participation
Baekseok University signed an agreement with the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) on the 17th to recognize overseas volunteer activities for academic credit.
The signing ceremony was attended by Lee Kyungjik, Vice President for Planning and Industry-Academia Cooperation at Baekseok University, and Jung Yungil, Director General of the Global Talent Development Department at KOICA.
Under the agreement, Baekseok University students who participate in KOICA's 'World Friends Korea' overseas volunteer program will be able to receive up to six academic credits for their volunteer work.
To this end, Baekseok University has established an official credit recognition system, while KOICA will provide comprehensive support, including volunteer selection, provision of activity verification documents, and program promotion.
Lee Kyungjik, Vice President for Planning and Industry-Academia Cooperation, said, "Our university aims to nurture future talents with global communication skills and a spirit of practical service," adding, "Through cooperation with KOICA, we will actively support our students' participation in the international community and their capacity building."
