In terms of growth rate in accommodation bookings compared to the previous year, Daejeon Metropolitan City saw the largest increase at 190%. Daejeon has become a nationwide bakery destination, with Seongsimdang leading the way as a famous spot for "ppangji sunrye" (a trip to find delicious bread), resulting in a surge of tourists. Additionally, with the recent expansion of family-oriented tourism infrastructure such as the newly built Hanwha Eagles baseball stadium and an artificial lake in Daejeon, it has established itself as a new travel destination near the metropolitan area.
Following Daejeon, Gyeongsangnam-do (171%) and Jeollanam-do (161%) also showed strong growth.
During the holiday period, domestic leisure product bookings also increased by 151% compared to the previous year. Nol Universe analyzed that "among facilities near Seoul, experiential content such as arboretums where visitors can enjoy relaxation in nature and theme parks where families can fully enjoy a day with children gained high popularity, especially among family users."
A representative from Nol Universe stated, "Due to external factors such as high inflation and high exchange rates, demand for domestic travel has greatly increased, and not only consistently popular regions like Gangwon-do but also new travel destinations like Daejeon are receiving diverse attention. We plan to continue enriching customers' leisure experiences based on customized products tailored to seasonal trends and synergy between platforms."
