Campaign Held at Yangsan Lake Park in Gwangju
Amid petals fluttering in the spring breeze, women in sky-blue vests quietly moved their hands. On the morning of the 17th at Yangsan Lake Park in Gwangju, about 40 female members of the Gwangju-Jeonnam Veterans Association carried out environmental cleanup and wildfire prevention activities as part of the 'Hyangun Go! Go! Go!' campaign.

The event was organized to reflect on the scars left by recent large-scale wildfires across the country. Participants walked around the park shelters and trails picking up trash and planting flower seedlings, putting into practice the role of 'everyday guardians of nature.' Some held signs reading 'Beware of Wildfires' to raise awareness among citizens about the importance of wildfire prevention.
This event was the spring edition of the Veterans Women's Association's 'GO! GO! GO!' campaign, which has been held nationwide each season since 2024, and was titled 'With Flowers, GO! GO! GO!' In June, there will be memorial maintenance and consolation activities ('With Heroes'), in August, a patriotic campaign ('With the Taegeukgi'), and in December, winter volunteer work such as kimchi and coal sharing ('With Neighbors') is planned.

Chairwoman Noh Hyangja said, "We will become a volunteer organization that moves together whenever the local community needs us," and added, "I hope that sharing in daily life will grow, just like the flowers we planted today."
