Themes include fostering a non-smoking culture
Muju County in North Jeolla Province is hosting the '2025 Youth No Smoking and Healthy Lifestyle Short-Form Video Contest'.
According to the county on the 17th, this contest was launched to encourage non-smoking and healthy lifestyle habits among adolescents during their growth period. Eligibility is open to anyone, including students enrolled in elementary, middle, and high schools located in the county, as well as out-of-school youth residing in Muju County. Participants can join individually or as a group of up to 30 members.
The themes for the short-form videos include: ▲Prevention of youth smoking and fostering a non-smoking culture ▲The harms of secondhand smoke in public places ▲Introduction to smoking cessation support programs and designated non-smoking areas ▲Various ideas and activities related to practicing a healthy lifestyle in daily life.
Original creative videos (between 50 seconds and 3 minutes; one entry per team) should be submitted via email by September 12.
Application forms and required documents, such as the consent form for the collection and use of personal information, can be downloaded from the county office website.
The county plans to select four outstanding entries (one Grand Prize, one First Prize, two Excellence Prizes, with certificates and local gift vouchers awarded) based on four criteria: relevance, creativity, completeness, and practicality.
Park Hayoung, head of the Health Promotion Team at the Muju County Health Center's Health Administration Division, said, "This contest is intended to share the current state of smoking and raise awareness of its seriousness to create better health habits and culture," adding, "Creative and proactive participation will attract the interest of peer youth and contribute to increasing the non-smoking rate."
