Advancing Women's Health and Medical Science
Kim Am, Chair Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Uijeongbu Eulji University Hospital (Hospital Director Song Hyun) in Gyeonggi Province, was recognized for his dedication to creating a healthy pregnancy and childbirth environment and advancing medical science, receiving the Chong Kun Dang Respected Hospital Personnel Award.

According to Uijeongbu Eulji University Hospital on the 17th, Professor Kim received the Hospital Personnel Award at the 15th Chong Kun Dang Respected Hospital Personnel Award ceremony held at Lotte Hotel Seoul on the 16th.
Professor Kim is the leading authority in South Korea on advanced maternal age, high-risk, multiple pregnancies, preterm birth, and fetal therapy. Since obtaining his obstetrics and gynecology specialist qualification in 1983, he has devoted himself to promoting women's health and safe childbirth with a strong sense of mission.
In particular, he has significantly contributed to the global advancement of perinatology in Korea as the president of the Korean Society of Perinatology and the Korean Society of Obstetric and Gynecologic Ultrasound. Since this year, he has been serving as the president of the Korean Society of Obstetrics and Gynecology, actively engaging in social contribution activities.
Currently, at the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology of Uijeongbu Eulji University Hospital, he provides high-quality medical care, pregnancy management, and delivery services, offering the best childbirth environment for mothers in northern Gyeonggi Province, while passionately nurturing future medical professionals.
In his acceptance speech, Professor Kim stated, "This award is an achievement accomplished together with all the staff at Uijeongbu Eulji University Hospital who tirelessly care for patients day and night behind the scenes," adding, "Under the belief that 'healthy pregnancy and safe delivery are blessings from heaven and the hope of the Republic of Korea,' I will do my best to ensure that every pregnant woman can happily meet her baby."
Hospital Director Song Hyun said, "Despite the weakening childbirth infrastructure in our country, Professor Kim Am leads the realization of Eulji Medical Center’s philosophy of love for humanity and respect for life through his endless dedication," and added, "We will focus our capabilities to establish Uijeongbu Eulji University Hospital as a lifelong health partner for women in northern Gyeonggi Province."
Meanwhile, the Chong Kun Dang Respected Hospital Personnel Award is jointly established by the Korean Hospital Association, Hospital Newspaper, and Chong Kun Dang. Every year, it discovers hospital personnel who have contributed to the growth and development of the hospital sector and selects recipients in the CEO and hospital personnel categories.
