The funds will be used for swift recovery from damage
and to help affected residents return to their daily lives
BNK Gyeongnam Bank is actively participating in the recovery and normalization efforts following the large-scale wildfire damage that occurred in our region.
BNK Gyeongnam Bank announced on the 17th that it has donated 200 million KRW in relief funds to Gyeongsangnam-do to support the recovery from wildfire damage in Sancheong and Hadong.
Bank President Kim Taehan visited the Gyeongsangnam-do Provincial Government and delivered the 'wildfire relief fund' to Governor Park Wansu.
The 200 million KRW in relief funds, prepared by BNK Financial Group affiliates including BNK Gyeongnam Bank, will be used to ensure the swift recovery from wildfire damage and to help affected residents return to their daily lives.
President Kim Taehan stated, "It is truly heartbreaking that Sancheong and Hadong have suffered such devastating wildfires. I hope that the donation of relief funds and various support measures at the BNK Financial Group level will help with the recovery and normalization of wildfire damage. As a leading financial institution in the region, BNK Gyeongnam Bank will spare no effort to help heal the wounds caused by the wildfire as quickly as possible."
Immediately after the wildfire, on the 22nd of last month, BNK Gyeongnam Bank dispatched a volunteer group of about 50 employees to the Sicheon-myeon area of Sancheong-gun to carry out emergency relief volunteer activities and deliver relief supplies to residents struggling with the damage.
Subsequently, as the scale of the wildfire damage was assessed to be significant, an 'emergency support program' was implemented for the recovery of wildfire damage in Gyeongnam and Ulsan, which included special mid- and short-term financial support measures.
Individuals will be eligible for up to 20 million KRW in emergency living stabilization funds, loan principal repayment deferments, and maturity extensions. In addition, special loans of up to 500 million KRW are being provided to affected farms and small business owners to support their recovery efforts.
Meanwhile, BNK Gyeongnam Bank is planning a large-scale volunteer activity at the BNK Financial Group level in June to help wildfire victims who have lost their homes and to support the recovery from wildfire damage.
