Agreement Signed with Korea Sepaktakraw Association
About 350 Athletes Visit Annually, Boosting the Local Economy
On the 17th, Goseong County, Gyeongnam, held a signing ceremony at the county governor's office for the hosting of a 'national-level Sepaktakraw tournament,' attended by County Governor Lee Sanggeun, Kim Youngjin, President of the Korea Sepaktakraw Association, and Jeong Huyeong, President of the Gyeongnam Sepaktakraw Association.
Through this agreement, Goseong County and the Korea Sepaktakraw Association aim to ensure stable tournament management based on mutual trust, contribute to revitalizing the local economy, promote the 'Dinosaur Land Goseong' brand, and expand the base of Sepaktakraw as a sport.
In accordance with the agreement signed with the Korea Sepaktakraw Association in 2021, Goseong County has been hosting a national-level Sepaktakraw tournament every year from 2021 to 2025. Each year, about 350 athletes from across the country have visited Goseong County, bringing vitality to the local economy.
County Governor Lee Sanggeun said, "I am very pleased that, through this agreement, we will continue to host national-level Sepaktakraw tournaments in Goseong County," and added, "We will actively support Goseong County to establish itself as the center of Sepaktakraw in Korea."
President Kim Youngjin responded, "The administrative support from Goseong County is among the best in the country," and added, "We will continue to work together with Goseong County for the development of Sepaktakraw."
Meanwhile, the 36th President's Cup Sepaktakraw Tournament is being held at the Goseong County National Sports Center from April 16, with 49 teams and about 350 athletes from across the country participating in heated competition.
