'Scheduling meetings,' 'Delivering the final version of the contract,' 'Requesting revisions to the project plan.' When opening the inbox, the key points catch the eye before the subject lines. Before I even open each email to check the content, artificial intelligence (AI) reads the body and extracts the main points in one or two sentences. Emails in foreign languages are automatically summarized in Korean. It also extracts schedule information from emails and automatically transfers dates and times to the work calendar.

This is one of the features of 'OfficeNext,' an AI work system for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). Launched by Jiranjigyo Soft in September last year, OfficeNext provides useful functions for companies such as email summarization, document creation, and password storage. Unlike global work platforms like Slack or Notion, it implements an interface familiar to Koreans, making it easy for factory workers in their 50s and 60s in manufacturing industries to use.

On the 18th, at Jiranjigyo Soft’s headquarters in Pangyo, Seongnam, Gyeonggi Province, CEO Park Seung-ae said, "SMEs are always short-staffed and need to improve efficiency through digital transformation (DX), so we created 'OfficeNext.' Foreign work programs are organized by project units, which do not fit the Korean corporate culture that works based on organizational charts. The interface also adopts familiar styles like Naver or Kakao," she explained.

The goal of OfficeNext is for AI to seamlessly integrate into work, making tasks much easier. Users speed up their work without even realizing they are using AI. CEO Park said, "Recently, during a service check, the AI email summarization feature was temporarily stopped, and our clients found that brief interruption very inconvenient. Tasks that usually took three minutes to organize emails took 30 minutes because people had to click and check everything manually." She added, "I realized that AI work has finally become a part of daily life, users have become accustomed to AI, and they are surprised when AI disappears."

The document creation feature of OfficeNext is also used effectively. When employees create documents, AI helps structure major formats such as project plans, reports, and contracts. For example, depending on whether it is a business plan, education plan, or marketing plan, it provides detailed structures. There are 30 basic document templates available. It also offers functions to summarize documents or write sentences in more detail. The tone can be changed to professional, confident, friendly, and so on.

When companies introduce external programs like OfficeNext, they may worry about security. CEO Park said, "Because file transfer and storage histories are recorded, confidential leaks can be blocked, and messenger login records help prevent incidents like hacking or ransomware. Recently, we added a 'SafeBox' feature to OfficeNext that securely manages shared accounts, allowing passwords used for work to be stored without risk of leakage." In the second half of this year, an electronic approval function will be introduced to OfficeNext, and in the future, personnel management functions such as attendance, leave, and payroll will be added.
