Opening Ceremony on the 17th... Expert Lectures Every Third Thursday of the Month
First Session: Comedian Lee Yongshik and Singer Won Hyuk Present "Laughter is the Best Medicine"
On the afternoon of the 17th at 3 PM, Ulsan City will hold the '2025 Ulsan Citizen Academy Opening Ceremony' in the main auditorium on the 2nd floor of City Hall, with over 500 citizens in attendance, including Mayor Kim Doo-gyeom and City Council Chairman Lee Seongryong.
The Ulsan Citizen Academy is Ulsan's representative expert lecture program, which has been ongoing since 2008.
This year, starting with the opening ceremony, a total of eight sessions will be held on various topics such as happiness, health, and culture and arts, every third Thursday of the month at the Ulsan City Hall main auditorium.
For the opening ceremony, comedian Lee Yongshik and singer Won Hyuk, who are active in broadcasting and performances, have been invited to give a lecture under the theme 'Laughter is the Best Medicine.'

Following the opening ceremony, a total of four lectures will be held in the first half of the year as part of the Ulsan Citizen Academy.
▲The second lecture will be held on May 15 by Professor Ahn Jongjun from the Department of Pulmonology at Ulsan University on 'Health Management After Middle Age.' ▲The third lecture on June 19 will be given by composer Lee Hoseop with the theme 'Let's Sing, Let's Be Healthy, Let's Be Happy.' ▲The fourth lecture on July 17 will be presented by Lim Yonghan, director of the Korean Institute of Historical Classics, on 'Today's World Through the Art of War.'
In the second half of the year (September to December), the Ulsan Citizen Academy will continue with four more sessions covering a variety of topics.
A city official said, "We have prepared a diverse range of lectures so that citizens can lead better lives through learning," and added, "We hope many citizens will attend and have a meaningful time."
To expand lifelong learning opportunities for citizens and share a wide range of general knowledge, the 'Visiting Citizen Academy,' a customized lecture program reflecting the needs of local institutions and organizations, will also be held twice each in the first and second half of the year.
