Gyeonggi-do Certifies 11 Good Companies This Year

A total of 86 companies applied for the 'Gyeonggi-do Good Company' certification conducted by Gyeonggi-do and the Gyeonggi-do Economic Science Promotion Agency. Gyeonggi-do will newly certify 11 companies this year after screening.

Among the applicants, 71 small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and 8 social economy organizations applied for new certification, while 3 SMEs and 4 social economy organizations whose certification validity period (3 years) had expired applied for re-certification.

The Gyeonggi-do Good Company certification is a system that discovers and certifies companies that have realized social value in various fields such as regional development, social contribution, and ethical management, targeting SMEs and social economy organizations with headquarters or factories in the province and more than three years of business experience. It has been implemented since 2015.

Certified companies receive a certificate and a plaque, and are granted various preferential benefits such as additional points when applying for 15 Gyeonggi-do SME support projects and incentives of up to 20 million KRW.

Gyeonggi-do will verify the on-site operation status of companies through document screening this month and on-site inspections in July, then hold a review committee in August to comprehensively evaluate the companies' soundness, fairness, social contribution, eco-friendly management, and contribution to the local economy to select the final certified companies.

Seo Bong-ja, Director of the Fair Economy Division of Gyeonggi-do, said, "As many companies have shown interest in the Good Company certification again this year, we will operate the upcoming screening process meticulously and fairly so that companies' efforts to realize social value can be properly evaluated."
