Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism Participates in the World Korean Business Convention in Atlanta, USA... Introducing Traditional Culture Companies

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism will set up the "2025 THAT'S KOREA: Today’s Traditional Startups" promotional booth, showcasing about 100 products from 32 companies under the Today’s Traditional Startups initiative. Today’s Traditional Startups is a project by the Ministry to nurture and support companies in the traditional culture sector, aiming to make traditional culture a part of everyday life for all generations. The Ministry and KCDF plan to promote idea products embodying Korean traditional wisdom at the booth, expand sales channels through buyer consultations, and enhance the competitiveness of these companies.

The promotional booth will feature startups from various traditional culture fields such as Korean cuisine, hanbok, crafts, and traditional experiences. Exhibitors include "The Barun," which developed "non-hardening rice cakes" and exports to the USA, Canada, and Singapore, promoting the charm of Korean rice cakes; "Mujagi," collaborating with companies like Starbucks and Sulwhasoo with ceramic products; and "Hapli," which developed daenggi and hanbok capturing the beauty of Hwajeopdo (butterfly and flower painting). Additionally, on-site events such as "Business Investment Presentation (Biz Sales Pitching)," "1:1 Business Consultation (Business Meetup)," and "Special Sales" will provide opportunities to directly communicate with overseas buyers and introduce traditional cultural products.

The Ministry and KCDF will continue to support actual contract signings through buyer consultations and export management after the event. Furthermore, in October, follow-up events such as traditional cultural product exhibitions and pop-up stores in collaboration with the Korean Cultural Center in Los Angeles (LA) will help widely promote Korean traditional culture companies in the North American market and secure sales channels.

A policy official from the Ministry stated, "Given the global interest in Korean traditional culture, we plan to continuously develop overseas sales channels for traditional cultural products and enhance the global competitiveness of traditional culture companies to elevate the status of Korean culture worldwide."
