Creating a Garden with Children by Planting Flowers in Neglected School Routes
Enhancing Ecological Sensitivity and Making Walking Environments More Pleasant
Dongdaemun-gu (District Mayor Lee Pil-hyung) held a 'Flower Path Making' event on the morning of the 16th at the green area behind Hongpa Elementary School in Jegi-dong.
This event was organized as a garden creation experience where children directly participated in cultivating flowers and plants. The purpose was to realize 'Flower City Dongdaemun' and improve the walking environment on school commuting routes.
About 50 people, including District Mayor Lee Pil-hyung, Hongpa Elementary School students and staff, and gardeners, participated in the event. Following the gardeners' guidance, the students planted flowers in the green area near the back gate walkway, learning the importance of nature and fostering affection for green spaces.
District Mayor Lee Pil-hyung stated, "We planted flowers with the children to create safe and beautiful paths that everyone wants to walk on," adding, "We will continue to strive to expand green spaces and promote garden culture."
