Uiseong County Accelerates Installation of Temporary Housing for Wildfire Victims Six Containers to Be Installed First in Anpyeong-myeon, Uiseong-gun, Gyeongbuk... Target to Complete by the End of April

According to the county on the 16th, six container units have been initially deployed in Anpyeong-myeon, the area most severely affected, and full-scale efforts for recovery and support for the displaced have begun.

The wildfire in Uiseong County has resulted in a total of 330 households and 507 people being displaced.

Currently, these individuals are dispersed among nine public facilities (70 people), four lodging facilities (23 people), senior centers (85 people), and the homes of relatives and acquaintances (329 people). As recovery is expected to take a long time, securing stable housing for the displaced has become an urgent task.

The temporary housing facilities being set up by the county in Anpyeong-myeon are approximately 27 square meters per container unit. Each unit is equipped with heating and cooling systems, a kitchen, bathroom, gas stove, as well as essential home appliances such as a TV, refrigerator, and washing machine. The facilities are designed to ensure that the displaced can maintain a minimum standard of living.

The county plans to complete the installation of temporary housing facilities in Anpyeong-myeon by the end of this month.

Depending on demand, phased expansion of the facilities is also under consideration.

Kim Jusu, the governor of Uiseong County, stated, "Providing even temporary stable housing for the displaced is the most urgent priority," and added, "We will mobilize all administrative resources to help them return to their daily lives as quickly as possible."

Meanwhile, Uiseong County is operating a comprehensive support system for the displaced, including emergency living expenses, relief supplies, and psychological counseling.
