Family Musical "New Kongjwi" and Children's Rights Book Exhibition to Be Held
Wanju County in North Jeolla Province will host a grand Children's Day festival on May 3 at the county office's Eoullim Madang area.
According to the county on the 16th, this festival has been organized to celebrate Children's Day by promoting child-friendly values and offering children a special day.
This event, hosted and organized by the Korea Arts and Culture Education Association, will feature a variety of programs under the festival slogan, "Wanju Heroes of the Future, Today I Am the Main Character."
Five hundred children in cosplay will be pre-registered and given the opportunity to showcase their talents through a parade. In particular, all visiting children will be able to enjoy magic and bubble performances, a family musical "New Kongjwi," a children's rights book exhibition, and more.
A variety of hands-on and cultural activity programs will also be offered. The venue will be divided into Future, Happiness, and City Zones. The Future Zone will offer digital, science, and creative programs needed for the future; the Happiness Zone will provide programs where children can fully enjoy various play experiences; and the City Zone will feature policy introduction and participation booths.
Additionally, to promote a green environment, children and families who bring their own tumblers will receive discounts on coffee and beverages.
Programs for children and youth participation include a child-friendly city drawing contest (300 participants) organized by the Wanju County Regional Child Center Association, a children's rights quiz event (Golden Bell, 500 participants) run by Good Neighbors Jeonbuk Branch, and a children's Baduk (Go) experience and tournament (100 participants).
At the Wanju Complex District "Nue," eight programs such as fiber, ceramics, woodworking, and a participatory art museum will be offered. Pre-registration and on-site participation are available for each program. For more details, please refer to the Wanju County children and youth website.
Shin Jaeseung, head of the Wanju branch of the Korea Arts and Culture Education Association, said, "We want to give children a happy day where they can laugh and enjoy themselves to the fullest," and added, "We hope children will make wonderful memories through the various experiences and programs offered on Children's Day."
Yu Heetae, Mayor of Wanju County, said, "Children's laughter is the future of Wanju," and added, "We hope our children, who are the protagonists of the future, will become the center of the world, enjoy, learn, and experience happiness during this time."
