The Korea International Trade Association held a trade industry meeting on the 16th at the Grand Intercontinental Hotel in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, inviting Wes Moore, Governor of Maryland, USA.

The meeting was attended by Chairman Yoon Jin-sik and other members of the Trade Association's executive board, as well as businesspeople interested in entering Maryland. From Maryland's side, Governor Wes Moore, Deputy Secretary of Commerce Harry Crocker Jr., and four other delegates participated.
Governor Wes Moore is the first African American governor of Maryland and the third in U.S. history. He demonstrates leadership based on diverse experiences including military service in Afghanistan, bestselling author, and social entrepreneur.
In his welcoming remarks, Chairman Yoon said, "Maryland is a hub of life sciences technology, home to world-renowned research institutions such as Johns Hopkins University, the National Institutes of Health (NIH), and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). It is also recognized as a center for advanced industries including aerospace, information technology, and cybersecurity." He added, "We hope that this meeting will serve as an opportunity for Korea and Maryland to advance into a practical cooperative relationship in industry, trade, and investment, and we look forward to Governor Moore's active interest and support."
Governor Wes Moore stated, "Korea is a very important partner in the future core industries that Maryland is focusing on developing. Through close cooperation with Korean businesspeople, we will spare no effort to support economic development and the activation of exchanges between the two regions."
