Accordingly, the city held the first dialogue meeting of the year on the 15th with the education family of Hopyeong Middle School.
About 20 education family members, including Namyangju Mayor Joo Gwang-deok, the principal and teachers of Hopyeong Middle School, members of the school operation committee, and the president of the parents' association, gathered to share various opinions on improving the school education environment.
The attendees discussed major environmental improvement tasks and directions for Hopyeong Middle School, such as paving the school parking lot with asphalt, installing anti-pothole devices on the playground, replacing heating and cooling systems, replacing classroom doors, improving the aging restroom environment, and cracking down on illegal parking in front of the school.
Shin Jeong-yeop, principal of Hopyeong Middle School, said, "I thank Mayor Joo Gwang-deok and the education family who made the valuable visit. I hope this gathering will be a meaningful occasion for Hopyeong Middle School to take a step forward."
Mayor Joo Gwang-deok emphasized, "Jeong Yak-yong, a timeless great figure born in Namyangju, said, 'Raising one child properly is as important as saving a thousand elders.' Raising children, the hope of the future, into upright talents is a core value that we all must pursue."
He added, "It is meaningful to have this opportunity to share dreams and hopes for school development at the gateway to spring. The city will continue to improve the educational environment so that students can realize their dreams."
Based on the opinions gathered through this dialogue meeting, Namyangju City plans to continue creating a student-centered educational environment and provide customized support policies tailored to each school's needs. The city will also sequentially visit various schools to maintain communication with the education family.
