Applications Accepted from the 22nd Until the 6th of Next Month
The Independence Hall of Korea announced on the 16th that it will distribute educational materials on the history of the independence movement to elementary, middle, and high schools.
The materials consist of learning kits and experience kits, and starting this year, a newly developed digital learning kit has also been included.
The learning kit comprises one type for elementary students, themed on the activities of the foreign independence activist Frederick A. Mackenzie, which features a "camera making" hands-on activity, and one type for middle and high school students, themed on the poet and independence activist Yun Dongju.
The experience kit is designed for lower-grade elementary students and includes a presentation and related animation about the composition and meaning of the Taegeukgi (Korean national flag), as well as a pinwheel-making kit.
The digital learning kit focuses on the independence movement of Kwon Giyok, Korea's first female aviator. Students can learn about Kwon Giyok's life and her role in the independence movement through related materials and vocabulary, and then check their understanding of key information and achievements through quizzes.
Applications for the educational materials can be made on the Independence Hall of Korea's educational information service website from the 22nd of this month to the 6th of next month.
Meanwhile, since 2018, the Independence Hall of Korea has distributed educational materials to 3,086 schools nationwide, reaching 207,583 students.
