Conducted Online and Offline for 45 Stations
Final Names to Be Confirmed in October After Naming Committee Review
Daejeon City announced that it will be collecting public opinions on the names of 45 stations for the Urban Railway Line 2 tram.
Anyone can participate in submitting opinions from the 16th to the 30th through both online and offline channels. Online participation is available via 'Daejeon Siso', the official websites of Daejeon City and its five districts, as well as Daejeon City's official social media channels. For offline participation, citizens can use printed forms provided at the City Hall's Communication and Civil Complaints Division and the Civil Complaints and Passport Divisions of the five district offices.
The city also plans to incorporate feedback from related administrative agencies, including the main city office, affiliated offices and organizations, the five district offices, and relevant institutions. After collecting opinions, the final station names will be determined in October following reviews by the district and Daejeon City Naming Committees.
Through this public opinion collection, the city expects to raise citizen interest in the station names and to enhance both the convenience of tram use and the sense of local identity.
Choi Jongsoo, Director of Daejeon City Urban Railway Construction Bureau, said, "Since the tram is a transportation system closely connected to citizens' daily lives, we aim to establish station names that are easy for citizens to use and reflect their perspectives and sentiments," urging active participation and feedback from the public.
