"Imaginative Picture Book Art"... Children's Author Lee Suji's Solo Exhibition in Jeju

Suzy Lee, First Korean Winner of the Andersen Award, Holds Solo Exhibition in Jeju
Presenting Art Inspired by Picture Book Works

The exhibition "Crossing Pages: Suzy Lee's Picture Book Exhibition," featuring Suzy Lee, the first Korean to receive the Andersen Award in 2022, is being held at the Jeju Museum of Contemporary Art until June 29.

"Imaginative Picture Book Art"... Children's Author Lee Suji's Solo Exhibition in Jeju

This exhibition was organized to showcase the diverse aspects of picture book art by expanding paper-based picture books into various languages such as installation, video, and music.


The exhibition reveals original artworks and sketches of Suzy Lee's major works including "Alice in Wonderland," "Wave, Let's Play," and "Shadow Play," as well as dummy books that offer a glimpse into the picture book production process.


The first space in the exhibition starts with "Alice in Wonderland," a picture book and the source of her subsequent works, while the second space presents three picture books?"Wave, Let's Play," "Shadow Play," and "Into the Mirror"?in different variations. In particular, the "Shadow Play" video and mobile fill a 7-meter-high wall, capturing visitors' attention.
