Hoengseong-gun Establishes 'Wellness Tourism' Network Utilizing Agricultural and Rural Resources

Three Local Organizations Including Hoengseong Culture and Tourism Foundation Sign 'Business Agreement'

Hoengseong-gun, Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province (Governor Kim Myung-gi) announced on the 15th that Hoengseong Culture and Tourism Foundation (CEO Lee Jae-seong), National Hoengseong Forest Experience Center (Director Lee Soo-sung), and Hoengseong-gun Rural Experience and Recreation Village Association (Chairman Kim Hak-jong) signed a 'Business Agreement for Mutual Development of Regional Tourism' at Deokgo Experience Recreation Village in Hoengseong-gun.

This agreement was promoted to induce the inflow of living population by actively utilizing agricultural and rural resources to develop wellness-specialized tourism in celebration of the '2025~2026 Year of Visit Gangwon.'

The main contents of the agreement include △ development and operation of tourism programs linked to the Year of Visit Gangwon △ cooperation in jointly hosting local forest, rural, and cultural events and continuous network building △ cooperation in developing regionally linked wellness tourism programs △ cooperation for sustainable tourism.

Lee Jae-seong, CEO of Hoengseong Culture and Tourism Foundation, said, "This agreement is an important first step in establishing a public-private cooperation foundation," adding, "We will work with Hoengseong Forest Experience Center and the Recreation Village Association to build a sustainable tourism ecosystem."

Lee Soo-sung, Director of National Hoengseong Forest Experience Center, stated, "We will strive to ensure that both local residents and tourists are satisfied and benefit through wellness tourism content."
