LS Electric Establishes Integrated Hub Facility in Texas, USA... "Additional Investment of 342.7 Billion KRW by 2030"

'Bastrop Campus' Completion Ceremony Held
Koo Jakyun: "We Aim to Become a Top 4 U.S. Power Company"
Plans to Produce Medium- and Low-Voltage Power Equipment and Distribution Systems

LS Electric has established a production facility in Bastrop, Texas, serving as a local business complex base, and has officially launched its North American power market strategy. The company aims to increase its local sales ratio to 70% by investing approximately KRW 342.7 billion more in North America by 2030.

On the 14th (local time), LS Electric announced the completion ceremony of the 'LS Electric Bastrop Campus,' a North American business support complex campus for production, research, and design, held in Bastrop, Texas. The ceremony was attended by about 200 people, including LS Electric Chairman Koo Ja-kyun, Bastrop Mayor John Kirkland, and officials from the Texas state government and local industry.

In his welcoming speech, Chairman Koo said, "The U.S. market and the Bastrop Campus will be a solid stepping stone for LS Electric's leap as a global company." He added, "We will invest an additional $240 million (approximately KRW 342.7 billion) by 2030 to expand production facilities and hire local personnel to grow into a North American power solutions hub that coexists with the local community." He continued, "We will thoroughly localize all aspects of the business value chain, including products, solutions, supply systems, and services, by densely expanding production, technology, and service infrastructure across the United States to provide differentiated customer value." He emphasized, "This investment marks the starting point for LS Electric's goal of achieving 70% overseas sales ratio and becoming one of the top four power companies in the U.S."

The Bastrop Campus is built on a 46,000㎡ site with a total building area of approximately 3,300㎡, serving as a North American business complex base encompassing 'production-technology-service.' LS Electric secured the site and auxiliary facilities in 2023 and has been progressively expanding the building, remodeling, and establishing production equipment.

Starting this year, LS Electric plans to actively produce medium- and low-voltage power equipment and distribution systems supplied to local big tech company data centers. By producing North American power business strategic products locally, LS Electric expects to alleviate some of the tariff pressures caused by recent U.S. government reciprocal tariff impositions.

LS Electric's strategy is to accelerate aggressive business expansion by using the Bastrop Campus and its distribution system production subsidiary 'MCM Engineering II' located in Cedar City, Utah, as two major bases. LS Electric recorded sales of about KRW 1.3 trillion in North America last year. In particular, last month, the company secured a KRW 160 billion contract to supply distribution systems to a major big tech company data center, continuing its upward trend fueled by the expanding local power infrastructure demand.

LS Electric plans to narrow the gap and expand market share with major overseas companies (Schneider, Siemens, Eaton, ABB) by building its own distribution network and rapid service infrastructure across North America centered on its U.S. corporation. An LS Electric official said, "Building a production base through bold investment will not only secure supply stability but also positively respond to increasingly stringent import regulations and tariff risks." He added, "With the completion of the Bastrop Campus, we will solidify LS Electric's position in the North American market."
