Introduction of Energy Saving and Paperless Management System for Multi-family Housing
Encouraging Voluntary Resident Participation Linked with the Apartment AI App... Realizing Carbon Neutrality in Daily Life
Nowon-gu (Mayor Oh Seung-rok) announced that it will promote energy saving and the digitization of management tasks to achieve carbon neutrality and improve management efficiency in multi-family housing.
Achieving the carbon neutrality goal requires voluntary participation and daily practice by residents. Accordingly, the district has begun preparing practical, lifestyle-oriented action plans to enable residents to actively participate in carbon neutrality efforts.
As part of this effort, the district has partnered with Apartment AI Co., Ltd., an apartment lifestyle service platform, to introduce energy saving and digitization of management tasks in multi-family housing.
First, Apartment AI provides a service on its app where users can check the estimated energy savings amount and target reduction volume. It also offers data that allows users to verify monthly savings goal achievements and expected discount amounts, encouraging participation in energy saving. Points earned through participation can be used to pay management fees.
In particular, it is easy to participate in various energy saving programs linked to the app. These include the residential energy cashback program, which deducts next month’s electricity bill if electricity usage is reduced compared to the average of the same month over the past two years, and Seoul City’s 'Energy Saving Mission' (Resident DR: where electricity users adjust their usage to match demand), which rewards individual households for reducing electricity consumption.
In addition to energy saving, a paperless multi-family housing management system will also be introduced. By converting paper management fee notices to electronic notices and digitizing various document tasks through electronic voting and electronic document systems, the district plans to reduce carbon emissions and improve work efficiency. These changes will be reflected as quantified carbon reduction results through the app, enabling more concrete evaluation and management of Nowon-gu’s multi-family housing carbon neutrality efforts.
Nowon-gu and Apartment AI plan to sign a business agreement at Apartment AI’s headquarters on April 23. After the agreement, related services will be gradually introduced to 160,000 multi-family housing units in the area.
Oh Seung-rok, Mayor of Nowon-gu, said, "Achieving carbon neutrality depends most importantly on the actions of each resident. We will continue to create an environment where residents take the lead in practicing and can feel the effects of carbon neutrality efforts."
