The '2025 Goyang International Flower Expo,' a representative flower exhibition of the Republic of Korea, will be held for 17 days from April 25 to May 11 at Ilsan Lake Park and its surrounding areas.

According to Goyang Special City on the 16th, this expo, held under the theme 'Flowers, Imagination, and Fragrance,' is the only flower brand expo in Korea and will unfold as a global festival with participation from over 200 institutions from 25 countries worldwide. Since its first opening in 1997, the Goyang International Flower Expo has established itself as Korea's representative flower exhibition, attracting 8.77 million domestic and international visitors up to last year.
This year's outdoor exhibition emphasizes planting compositions based on the colors of various flowers and the utilization of natural landscapes, reflecting the analysis of gardening trends for 2025. The outdoor exhibition is composed of three parts: ▲Culture conveyed through the scent of flowers ▲Imaginary gardens that communicate with flowers ▲Expansion toward a sustainable world.
At the Theme Plaza's 'Dreaming Garden (Theme Garden),' the main sculpture 'Golden Panda' will be featured. The Golden Panda, boasting a large size of 10 meters in height and over 10 meters in width, symbolizes gathering the energy of flowers and spreading it throughout the world, welcoming visitors warmly.
At Hanul Plaza, the 'Colorful Tinyping Garden' will captivate children's hearts. Visitors can meet four characters from the popular animation 'Catch! Tinyping' as large sculptures, and the themed garden will be decorated with colors representing each character.
Ilsan Lake Park, where the flower expo is held, is a representative tourist attraction of Goyang City, famous for its beautiful flowers, lake, and sunset. Inspired by this, the 'Garden of Flower Light, Water Light, and Sunset Light' allows visitors to enjoy gardens and photo zones embodying each of the three colors using a metasequoia tree-lined street.

In the 'Garden of Flowers and Fantasy,' visitors can stroll with the lake as a backdrop and become protagonists in a fairy tale-themed garden. The 'Goyang Citizen Garden Show' features gardens designed and created by 10 teams composed of citizens. Additionally, the 'Everyday Imagination Garden' offers nine photo zones with an outdoor wedding party concept based on communion with nature.
The 'Garden of Flowers, Fragrance, and Water,' utilizing the existing vegetable garden at Ilsan Lake Park, is decorated with fragrant herbs such as lavender, providing a healing space that stabilizes the mind and body. The 'Rose Garden,' filled with roses, the city flower of Goyang, will showcase the earliest blooming roses in Korea, following pre-bloom greenhouse cultivation.
The Goyang Local Garden, created with flowers and plants produced by over 300 farms in Goyang City, uses about 200 species and more than 100,000 flowers produced locally. Separate themed gardens for cacti, succulents, bonsai, and wildflowers are also established to create beautiful spaces.
In the indoor exhibition halls, consisting of the Flower Industry Hall and Flower Exchange Hall, visitors can see over 100 new and excellent domestic and international varieties. Unique plants such as Pachypodium native to Madagascar, carnivorous plants from Indonesia, and rainbow roses from Colombia are also on display.
The 'Breathing Indoor Garden' features a vertical garden about 20 meters high on the interior walls of the exhibition hall and open horizontal gardens with different themes in each space, creating a tropical rainforest atmosphere. The 'Three-dimensional Garden (Flower Wonderland)' in the lobby and central hall enhances immersion with hanging flowers, preserved flowers, and other aerial floral decorations.
The Global Floral Artists Exhibition, showcasing the latest trends and designs in floral decoration worldwide, features works by five famous florists who have won various World Cups and international competitions: ▲Ahti Lyra (Estonia) ▲Elizabeth Newcombe (UK) ▲Attila Nemeth (Hungary) ▲Berit Skjøttgaard (Denmark) ▲Joo Heung-mo (Republic of Korea).
The Goyang International Flower Award Show, integrating several competitions, will present awards in four exhibition production categories and four floral decoration categories. The floral art contests include the ▲Preserved Flower Cup Competition (April 27) ▲Korea Flower Arrangement Competition (May 1) ▲IHK Cup Flower Design Skills Competition (May 3-4) ▲Children and Middle-aged Amateur Flower Decoration Competition (May 6).
Additionally, on April 29 and 30, a garden culture forum titled 'Change the world, Public Garden' will be held. Organized in collaboration with the Korea Plant and Arboretum Association, the forum will cover various topics such as local gardens and native plant cultivation, people dreaming in gardens, and public gardens, and general visitors can participate.

Meanwhile, as a flower business expo, the Goyang International Flower Expo has been selected for the KOTRA overseas buyer attraction support project this year, providing a customized platform including new buyer discovery and expert consulting. A focused Business Day period will be operated to conduct one-on-one international trade consultations both online and offline. Last year, the city achieved 200 business consultations and an expected contract amount of 2.3 million USD.
Near the Singing Fountain at Ilsan Lake Park, the Goyang Flower Market will be held. About 33 local flower farms will sell high-quality flowers they have cultivated themselves, and sales booths for agricultural specialties and unique accessories will also operate.
At the waterside stage, the opening ceremony on April 25 will feature performances by the Goyang City Choir, trot singer Nataju, and SG Wannabe's Kim Yong-jun. On Children's Day, May 5, the 'Catch! Tinyping Parade' will be held, and on Parents' Day, May 8, trot singers Kim Hye-yeon, Kim Na-hee, and Young-gi will perform.
Around the waterside stage, a water flower bicycle experience, available only during the flower expo period, will be offered. Various flower culture days will also be held, including ▲Bonjour Flower (Stencil Art Experience, April 25) ▲Body Flower Show (April 26) ▲Flower Demonstration (May 2, 11) ▲Plant Caretaker Day (May 5) ▲Understanding Korean Traditional Floral Art Lecture (May 8) ▲'Orchid' Plant Hospital Consultation (May 10).
Advance tickets for the Goyang International Flower Expo are available for Goyang citizens until April 20 and online advance booking until April 24. Visitors using public transportation (including village buses) will receive a 3,000 KRW discount on on-site tickets.

Public transportation access is via Exit 1 or 2 of Jeongbalsan Station on Line 3 or Exit 2 of Kintex Station on GTX-A. Visitors using GTX-A can take a free shuttle bus from the bus stop in front of One Mount, and shuttle buses will also operate for visitors using the temporary parking lot (Magpie Parking Lot).
