Geumcheon-gu to Create 12,300 Jobs in 2025... Aiming for 72.3% Employment Rate

Geumcheon-gu (District Mayor Yu Seong-hoon) announced that it has established the "2025 Detailed Job Policy Plan," aiming to create 12,300 jobs this year and achieve an employment rate (ages 15-64) of 72.3%.

In accordance with the "Basic Employment Policy Act," the district formulates and publicly announces a detailed job policy plan for regional employment activation by the end of March each year. This year, based on labor market analysis, it has prepared four major strategies, 23 action tasks, and a total of 118 detailed job projects.

The main strategies include ▲ expanding customized job support by demand groups ▲ providing tailored employment support services through job infrastructure utilization ▲ promoting employment and entrepreneurship for youth independence ▲ supporting corporate competitiveness to expand jobs.

The detailed targets are 93 projects creating 6,241 "direct jobs," 5 projects with 832 "vocational training" positions, 3 projects with 2,620 "employment services," 1 project with 50 "employment incentives," 10 projects with 202 "startup support and small business assistance," and 6 projects with 2,355 "public-private cooperation and other job creation" initiatives.

The district will expand customized job support for various groups. Along with public jobs for vulnerable groups such as seniors, persons with disabilities, and women, it will also promote youth-targeted projects such as the Youth Challenge Support Project, Youth Administrative Internships, and Youth Enterprise Certification System. In particular, by utilizing the "Geumcheon Youth Dream Center," it plans to strengthen youth startup support and expand practical employment opportunities through linkage projects with G-Valley companies.

Policies based on public-private cooperation will also be strengthened. Efforts will be made to expand local employment through the operation of Geumcheon Job Corporation, signing business agreements with related job institutions, and agreements prioritizing hiring local residents with public and private construction companies commissioned within the region.

Last year, the district announced a goal of creating 12,000 jobs and exceeded this by creating 12,054 jobs. The employment rate for ages 15 to 64 was 72.3%, which is 2.9 percentage points higher than the national employment rate of 69.4%, ranking second among Seoul’s autonomous districts.

The district has established the "Comprehensive Job Plan for the 8th Elected Term," announced in December 2022, aiming to create a total of 47,000 jobs during the 8th elected term.

Yu Seong-hoon, Mayor of Geumcheon-gu, said, "In difficult economic times, jobs are welfare. We will do our best to help residents find vitality in life through stable jobs and to create a city where youth can stay."
