The size of the sinkhole discovered this time is approximately 40 cm wide, 30 cm long, and 90 cm deep. A Jungnang-gu water management department employee patrolling the area discovered the sinkhole around 7:45 a.m. that day, and the district office took temporary measures such as filling the hole with soil and asphalt to prevent any casualties.
The district office began road excavation work around 4:30 p.m. to identify the cause. As a result, it was found that the sinkhole occurred due to soil erosion caused by damage to the drainage facilities of a nearby building. A district official stated, "We will strengthen patrols and management to prevent any future damage to residents."
