'Well-Aging Asia No.1' Vision for Glocal University
Chosun University (President Kim Chunseong) announced on the 15th that it held a 'Comprehensive President System Agreement Ceremony' with Chosun College of Science and Technology (President Cho Soon-gye) and Chosun Nursing College (President Park Myeonghui) to promote university integration through the establishment of a single governance system.
The agreement ceremony, held at the chairman's office of the main building of Chosun University, was attended by Kim Isu, Chairman of the Chosun University Foundation, Kim Chunseong, President of Chosun University, Park Myeonghui, President of Chosun Nursing College, Moon Inseop, Director of Planning at Chosun College of Science and Technology, Kim Kisuk, Director of Education and Youth Affairs of Gwangju City, and other key officials from each institution.
This agreement is one of the core strategies of the 'Glocal University 30' project, presenting an integration roadmap starting with the introduction of the comprehensive president system for the three universities, the establishment of an integrated organization with Chosun College of Science and Technology by 2027, and joint recruitment of freshmen with Chosun Nursing College.
Additionally, the three universities plan to jointly promote Chosun University's Glocal University vision of becoming 'Asia's No.1 Well-Aging University' through key initiatives such as ▲Three Major Well-Aging Specialized Education Innovations ▲Establishment of a Big Data-Based Testbed Industry-Academia Cooperation Model ▲Global Expansion through Global Subsidiaries.
Furthermore, they plan to strengthen their role as a glocal hub by linking with Gwangju City's senior-friendly industry, Gwangju AI Data Center, and the Corporate Demonstration One-Stop Support Center.
Kim Isu, Chairman of Chosun University Foundation, stated, "This agreement, based on the comprehensive president system, is the starting point of innovation towards becoming a 'well-aging-centered university,'" and added, "We will provide full support so that Chosun University can become a successful model of Glocal University 30."
Kim Chunseong, President of Chosun University, said, "The strong interest from Gwangju City is very reassuring," and added, "Above all, today's event was made possible thanks to the cooperation of the presidents of each university."
Kim Kisuk, Director of Education and Youth Affairs, stated, "The process of promoting Chosun University's Glocal University 30 is very systematic and substantial," and added, "Gwangju City will actively support Chosun University to be selected for Glocal University 30."
