Hampyeong County in Jeollanam-do announced on the 15th that the Hampyeong-eup Residents' Autonomous Committee will operate a free laundry service to address welfare blind spots and improve the quality of life for vulnerable groups.

The Hampyeong-eup Residents' Autonomous Committee has decided to officially launch the 'Free Laundry Room' project, providing complimentary laundry services to 55 senior centers in the area as well as to elderly people living alone, single-parent families, and other vulnerable residents.

This project is part of the 'Hometown Love Fund Project' jointly supported by Jeollanam-do and Hampyeong County. With the cooperation of village leaders and local welfare organizations, the initiative will offer collection and washing services for large laundry items. It is expected to receive a positive response from elderly people with mobility difficulties and residents who struggle with laundry.

Lee Kyungjin, head of the Residents' Autonomous Committee, said, "The free laundry room project will provide practical support for daily needs such as washing blankets, which are essential but often difficult to manage, and will be of real help to residents' lives. We will actively promote this service so that more people can benefit from it."

Jeong Hwaja, head of Hampyeong-eup, emphasized, "This project goes beyond simple daily convenience, strengthening the bonds between local residents and serving as an opportunity to raise the welfare standards of Hampyeong-eup. We will continue to identify and implement welfare projects tailored to the local characteristics and needs of our community."
